The population from Juazeiro do Norte and Crato, on Ceará, will get a new transportation system. It is the Cariri Metro, which will be inaugurated on Tuesday, 1st of December, by the state government.
Budgeted at more than US$ 14 million, the new transportation system will link the two cities, offering a faster transportation. “Firstly, to assure the equipment’s performance, the metro will run without collecting tickets”, said the Governor of Ceara state, Cid Gomes.
After concluded this phase, Cariri Metro is entering the operating track, which the trains will run from 5:30 to 22:30, with 38 trips on each direction, totaling 76 trips per day. The forecast for Cariri Metro demand is five thousand engers per day on average.
Route
According to the government, the 13.6 km route between the cities of Juazeiro do Norte and Crato will be made in 28 minutes by tramways (light rail). There will be two diesel traction fluid mechanics trains, consisting of two cars with air conditioned, gangway age and 330 enger capacity per car.
At the opening ceremony, Cid Gomes also sign a service order for the construction of the highway that links Garden Barbalha. The bridge will be 38 km long and will receive investments of US$ 18.67 million. The construction period is 360 days.
