The bid announcement for implementing the LRV (Light Rail Vehicle) in Cuiabá may take place this year. The 2014 World Cup’s Extraordinary Secretary (Secopa) should finish the Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) executive project by the 15th of next month. The government’s expectation is that the bidding announcement for istering this service for private initiatives should be released in December.
The LRV will have two routes, one connecting A to the airport, and the other connecting Coxipó to Cuiabá’s city center. The project’s implementation is forecasted as 33 stations in a model system, which ensures that engers will be rapidly transported through these two main city axes. At a cost of US$ 623.9 million, the new system will be the main transportation legacy for the capital city of Mato Grosso state, which will be one of the 2014 World Cup host cities.
The Commission will monitor – the Legislative Assembly’s Monitoring Committee for the 2014 World Cup will begin its on-the-spot supervision of construction and the World Cup Extraordinary Secretary’s actions next week.
According to Commission chairman, deputy Sérgio Ricardo (PR), the commission will more-closely monitor actions, demand an ability calendar, and dates for the beginning and conclusion of construction work. The chairman said “we want to help governor Silval Barbosa (PMDB) to consolidate its mission of making the World Cup in Mato Grosso state an event for the history books”, pointing out that deputies will be demanding ability to avoid the crisis that has taken place recently, much more because of lack of information than errors or failures.
